Contro la Statistica: two months with an unprofitable trader

Contro la Statistica is a project that will be released on YouTube by the end of March.
It is not a recorded course and it is not a motivational format. It is a real experiment that we decided to document from start to finish.
The idea was easy to say and much harder to put into practice. The idea was to take a trader with negative statistics and see whether, with the right support, a clear method and a solid structure, it is really possible to improve the way he trades.
To do that we didn’t just schedule a few Zoom calls. We found a house just for this project and lived there together for two months. Trading, lessons, a lot of backtesting and every now and then a bit of downtime. All of the candidate’s expenses were covered by us, with no participation fees and no hidden costs. It was our investment, not his.
The team is made up of me, Daniel Totò. I followed the project both as a mentor and as the narrative voice of the series. Together with me there is Daniele Verdenelli, former trainer at Morpheus Education, with real experience in discretionary trading. And then there is Federico Tognetti, financial advisor and trader with thousands of trades behind him and a very structured view of the market.
We selected one candidate and started again from scratch. We analysed his edge, studied his mistakes, ran theoretical lessons, backtesting sessions and continuous debriefs. No promise of immediate results, just a lot of study and work.
The focus of the series is not “passing a challenge” or proving something in front of the camera. The point is to see whether a person can change the way they think in front of the market. Because in the end the problem is almost never the strategy you use, but how you apply it every single day.
We didn’t try to build a perfect story. We simply turned the cameras on and recorded what was happening, between good and bad decisions, mistakes, moments of pressure and the weight of the responsibility we took on.
Contro la Statistica starts from a question everyone knows, the famous “90% of traders lose”. But is it just a technical issue, or do discipline, method and education also play a part
This series is not designed to sell a dream. It is designed to show a journey, with its steps forward, blocks, restarts and the moments when it feels like nothing is improving.
By the end of March it will be online on YouTube, and I can’t wait to hear what you think.
